I was nine or ten, and I remember coming downstairs and handing the book to my father and telling him to burn it. The story about the monkey’s paw scared the crap out of me. I think it was a novelization of Tales from the Crypt. What was the first book that made you cry? But did that stop me from buying paperbacks and hardcovers? No, siree. finally, I could cram a hundred books into something that weighed less than a pound. ![]() When I moved out of the house, my collection only grew, making it a real pain in the ass to move every few years. I devoured all the books in my elementary school library, read everything in my parents’ house, and constantly borrowed books from my friends. ![]() which might explain my penchant for the dark and disturbing. I was!
